Most people in the world are longing to travel again, but even after the lockdown is lifted, it is good to take care.
How many of you are planning to travel the minute the lockdown is lifted? Probably a lot. Living under lockdown in the coronavirus pandemic is not exactly fun. As the world gradually returns to what is being dubbed the “new normal,” there are a number of practical places to visit.
1. Greenland
While not exactly a vacation destination, Greenland does have beautiful landscapes and charming locations to visit. One of the benefits is that this is the least densely populated country in the world. Statistics say there are 0.4 people per square mile in Greenland, meaning you have plenty of space for social distancing.
Here you can visit remote but charming destinations like Nuuk (the capital), Ilulissat and Ittoqqortoormiit. While the towns are not easily pronounced, you will find the people to be friendly and welcoming and very few crowds. When it comes to unique activities, one major sport to try is dog sledding.
2. Costa Rica
For those with a true love of nature, Costa Rica is the perfect destination for an eco-tourism vacation. This remarkable place offers incredibly diverse natural beauty in the form of flora, fauna and colorful birds.
For those who love to hike in pretty places, the rainforests are the way to go. However, anyone who just wants to relax can enjoy the gorgeous beaches with their waving palm trees and crystal clear water. Rent a rustic tree house in the heart of the rainforest for a true and quiet experience in Costa Rica.
3. Puerto Rico
One foreign place that is ideal for Americans to visit without a passport is Puerto Rico. A vacation here is also one of the most affordable, with cheap flights from all major cities, flying into the capital, San Juan.
This Caribbean nation has lovely beaches for those who want to relax and tan, but there are also fascinating places to visit, including the Humacao Nature Reserve, with its flora and fauna and the fascinating and historic Old San Juan.
4. Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri
Fans of the Netflix hit series Ozark already know this beautiful place, albeit in a more sinister way! However, this Midwest lake resort is a gorgeous place to visit. Whether you rent a rustic cabin on the lakeshore or stay in a quaint bed & breakfast, this area is perfect for a quiet, relaxing vacation.

Among the activities available are boating and fishing, relaxing on a lake beach, hiking the forests or visiting an elaborate cave system in the area.
5. Tasmania, Australia
Australia is a vast land, with the dry outback, coastal paradises and great cities. When looking for somewhere quiet with nature and beauty, Tasmania is a great choice. Here you can explore the rugged wilderness, go fishing and boating, or hike the forests.
For a little culture, head to the capital city of Hobart where you can take in the history of Tasmania and experience the many restaurants. Foodies will find they are spoiled for choice in Tasmania!
Let’s think ahead to what the experts are calling the “new normal.” Plan a quiet and relaxing vacation, far from the madding crowd.
