Opening Date Announced For New Minion Land At Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando is set to have another hit on their hands for the kids as they announce the opening date for the new Minion Land. Meanwhile, the resort announced that Minion Land on Illumination Avenue will start welcoming the public on August 11, 2023. Read on to find out what we know so far.

Universal Studios Orlando reveals opening date for new Minion Land

Minion fans are to be treated to a great new Minion Land, coming on August 11, 2023. It was created in partnership between Universal Creative and Illumination and is set to bring the hugely popular movie franchise to life. Currently, the new land is in preview for guests and perfectly mixes Minion mischief with diabolical fun.

Meanwhile, the new Minion Land is an expansion of the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction. Moreover, it will include a bunch of humorous adventures inspired by Illumination’s much-loved Minions.

Villain-Con Minion Blast

The theme park announced new details earlier in July for Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast blaster game. Set at the entrance to Minion Land, the blaster game blends immersive sets, custom animations, and interactive game-based technology along with an original storyline. Meanwhile, this unique blaster attraction will inspire guests to put their villainous skills to the ultimate test.

When entering the new attraction, guests will then be transported to Villain-Con. Here, the headlining event challenges them to see who has what it takes to become a member of the notorious supervillain group, the Vicious 6. The attraction is voiced by the original cast from the movie, including Lucy Lawless, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Danny Trejo.

In Despicable Me Minion Mayhem™ guests can join Gru, his daughters and the Mischievous Minions on an unpredictable ride. Along the way, they will be recruited for Gru’s latest scheme, where they will become an actual Minion. However, after things don’t go as planned, guests will be launched into an unforgettable trip through the supervillain laboratory. They may be dastardly villains, but the ride is heartwarming family fun for everyone.

Snack away at Minion Café

After all the Minion fun, guests are likely to get hungry and can head to a unique dining experience featuring themed food and drink offerings from Illumination’s Minion Café, along with Bake My Day and Freeze Ray Pops.

It is also fun to note that the new Minion Land will host an Evil Stuff retail store. Here, guests can load up with Minion-related gear to take home for themselves or as gifts to the family. Meanwhile, the outdoor Illumination Theater façade is the perfect place where guests can meet and interact with characters like the Minions, along with Gru, Edith, Margo and Agnes.
